Elkton Volunteer Fire Chief Convicted In Fayette County



A Fayette County jury has convicted the Elkton Volunteer Fire Chief of sexual abuse from an incident that took place while students were visiting Lexington.The Todd C ounty Standard reports that Darrin Cole, the former maintenance director of the Todd County School District, could be facing 18 months for the 1st Degree Sexual Abuse conviction.

Cole was arrested last year when an incident occurred while he was accompanying students to a state conference in Lexington in March of 2013. Reports say he had inappropriate contact with a Todd County Central High School student. After an internal investigation he was let go from the Todd County School District in July of last year. He remains the Chief of the Elkton Volunteer Fire Department.
