One Injured In Lyon County Crash

One person was transported following a single vehicle accident early Saturday morning on Interstate 24 in Lyon County. State Police say 52-year old Christopher Winn, of Kansas City, Missouri, was eastbound, at the 43-mile marker, near the Kentucky 293 exit, when he fell asleep at the wheel of his Dodge Caravan. The Caravan entered the median, with Winn then over correcting, causing the van to cross both eastbound lanes before striking the face of a guard rail. The van crashed through the guardrail and traveled down an embankment, before coming to rest in a ditch.

A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year old Nehemian Winn, of Kansas City, Missouri, was transported to Caldwell Medical Center following the accident. Christopher Winn, and three other passengers, were not injured in the crash, which occurred around 4:15am Saturday.
