United Way Kick Off Coming Up

The United Way of the Pennyrile will kick off its 2014 fundraising campaign on September 9th. Executive Director Jennifer Steiner Maddux tells the News Edge she feels her organization is more than prepared to meet its $800,000 goal. Heritage Bank President John Peck is this year's campaign chairman and the theme for the campaign is Get In The Game! Maddux says no amount donated is too small, as the organization funds 21 health and human services agencies in the Pennyrile.

Maddux feels the advantage of giving to United Way offers donors the opportunity to support the these agencies with a small deduction.

In addition, to Chairman Peck, 23 volunteers make up the 9 cabinets and they're work ethic shows.

The Get In The Game Campaign kick-offs at 7:00am September 9, with a breakfast at the A.W. Watts Senior Citizens Center.   For more information, log on to
