Armed Robbery In Hopkinsville

Hopkinsville Police let little time slip by before taking a suspect into custody in connection to an armed robbery at the Dollar General on North Main Street in Hopkinsville Friday afternoon. Hopkinsville Police Captain Mike Seis says officers were able to track down the suspected robber shortly after the call came out and a description relayed.

51-year old William Lindsey, of Cadiz, was taken into custody as he attempted to flee the area in a cab.  Captain Seis says two hundred dollars stolen from the store was recovered. Reports say Lindsey took a toy gun from a package inside the store, painted it black with spray paint from the store, and put it in the front waistband of his pants.  He then approached the clerk demanding money and pulling up his shirt to show the gun. Linsey then fled on foot hiding in the wooded area nearby. He is charged with 1st Degree Robbery.

Linsey was the Trigg County Crime Stoppers featured fugitive this week.  He was wanted in Trigg County in connection to the theft of a moped and firearm.
