Trigg Native Lives Near California Quake

A Cadiz native living in California returned home Monday after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck near his home. Ryan Wallace, son of Jim and Penny Wallace, lives in Navto, California, just 15 miles from the epicenter of an earthquake that struck the Napa Valley area early Sunday morning. Wallace says he and his family were in Sacramento when the quake hit but, his father-in-law was house and dog sitting for them and was shaken awake around 3:20am.

He says while this is a larger earthquake than they normally see, when you live in California, it comes with the territory.

Media reports say more than 120 people were injured in the quake and damage to property is still being assessed. It is the largest earthquake to hit the Napa Valley area in at least 25 years. Ryan is a 7th generation Wallace from Trigg County but moved to California for his career. He now works as a Senior Editor for Yahoo.
