The sitting First District of Kentucky Congressman will seek another term in office. Representative James Comer filed his paperwork with the Secretary of State's Office Tuesday to seek a second full term in office. Comer won the seat by nearly 135,000 votes in the November 2016 election. He also took 72 percent of the vote to fill the unexpired term of Ed Whitfield for the end of 2016. He beat Democratic challenger, Sam Gaskins. Gaskins has again filed to run for the seat.
