Christian County Fiscal Court magistrates approved the sheriff's and clerk's office budgets during their regular meeting Tuesday morning. Magistrates unanimously approved the Christian County Sheriff's Office budget of more than $4 million dollars.
Magistrates also approved the Christian County Clerk's Budget of more than $1.3 million. Clerk Mike Kem says the major item in the budget this next year is an increase in retirement contribution.
However, District 4 Magistrate Darrell Gustafson disagreed with Kem's statement that it's not an expense.
Magistrates also made final approval of the 2018 Christian County Road Program that was presented at the December 20th special called meeting.
The next fiscal court meeting will be held Tuesday morning, January 23, at 8:30.
