Cold weather and the threat of more snow will not stop the 23rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day events Monday in Cadiz. Genesis Express President George Radford says the 10:00 march from Cadiz Renaissance Square to Bloomfield Baptist Church will take place as planned.
The march will begin at Renaissance Stage following remarks by Harrison Crump, Jr, who will give the "Why We March" speech. The March will leave Renaissance Square, move to Jefferson Street and end at Bloomfield Baptist Church.
Meanwhile, the annual Martin Luther King, Jr, Day service will take place at 11:00 at Bloomfield. This year's featured speaker will be Reverend Troy Ladd, son of the late Russell and Roberta Ladd of the Rocky Ridge Community. The theme of the 2018 March and program is Wake Up and Stay Woke!
