The County Attorney in Christian County has announced he will not seek re-election in the 2018 Election. Mike Foster tells the News Edge he loves the duties of his office and opportunities of finding ways to help communities through County government and the County Attorney’s office. He adds making the decision to not run for re-election was not an easy one.
He served as Assistant County Attorney for six years prior to being elected for nine terms as County Attorney, a total of 43 years.
Foster says he is not riding off into the sunset, but will continue actively practicing law.
He adds that he loves public service and he has the highest respect for those who choose to offer their services in any elected position, although it can be a difficult but can be a very rewarding job. Foster says he is very appreciative of the confidence that people of Christian County have placed in him over the many years as their County Attorney. He adds he has tried to repay that confidence by working as hard as he knows how to work to make the office effective and create a lot of program that were considered innovative at the time.
Foster says he is happy that his long-time Chief Assistant County Attorney, John Soyars, with 27 years of experience, is planning to file to be his successor who is very prepared to be County Attorney.
