An 18-year old Clarksville man has been charged in connection to a two vehicle where a 55-year old man had to be flown to a Nashville hospital last week. Clarksville Police Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says Vintavious Lamorris Williams was charged with three counts of Reckless Endangerment, Simple Possession, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, No Driver’s License, and other charges.
The wreck occurred around 1:40 Thursday afternoon, January 18, at Crossland Avenue and Talley Road. Police say the 55-year old man was driving east on Crossland Avenue and had a green light when Williams ran a redlight at the intersection and crashed into the driver’s side of the man’s pickup truck. Eyewitnesses stated to officers Williams was driving at a high rate of speed when he ran the redlight. Police report they also found marijuana inside the vehicle driven by Williams.
The 55-year old man was tranported by ambulance to Tennova Medical Center in Clarksville and then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville in critical condition. Police reported he had been upgraded to stable and alert the next day.
Williams and his two passengers, a 19 year old male and 18-year old female, were uninjured in the collision.
