Airport Threat Charges Dropped Against Magistrate

False Report charges against a Trigg County Magistrate were dismissed following a recomendation by the Prosecutor. According to information on the Nashville-Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk's website, Judge Melissa Blackburn dismissed the False Report charge against Magistrate John Gray Thursday, February 1st.

According to court records, Judge Blackburn granted what is called a nolle prosekwi, which is a legal term meaning the prosecutor is dropping the charges and will no longer pursue the case against a defendant.

Gray was charged with falsely reporting an incident in November after he made comments at the Nashville Airport to a Southwest ticket agent that another person near him had a bomb in his luggage. Gray said he was only joking, but was taken into custody. He was later allowed to continue his trip.
