School Shooting Could Be Among Cases Presented This Week

The Marshall County Grand Jury will meet this week for the first time since the fatal shooting at Marshall County High School that claimed two lives. The 15-year old accused in that shooting was in court Friday. The day of the shooting State Police and the Prosecuting Attorneys' Offices said they would be pursuing a Youthful Fender ruling in the case. Assistant County Attorney Jason Darnall also confirmed that day the Grand Jury would next meet February 13th.

The teen faces two counts of 1st Degree Murder and 12 counts of 1st Degree Assault. The shooting claimed the lives of 15-year old Bailey Holt and 15-year old Preston Cope. A dozen others were also shot and several more suffered injuries while trying to flee. The name of the shooter has not been released by State Police, but if he is indicted by the Grand Jury as an adult, it will be released at that time.
