Madisonville's Police Chief Is Retiring

After 20 years of service, Madisonville's Police chief is retiring at the end of this month. The City of Madisonville and Chief Wade Williams made the announcement Tuesday.

Madisonville Mayor David Jackson says in a social media post that while he hates to see Chief Williams retire, he fully supports Williams aspirations for him and his family. He went on to say Chief Williams has worked hard to make Madisonville safe, to lower crime and to fight the drug epidemic that has threatened their young people. Mayor Jackson also expressed his appreciation for the level of cooperation Chief Williams has with the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office and believes it has had a very positive impact.

When reflecting on his career, Chief Williams says there were too many proud moments to list them all concerning his employees and the ability to serve Madisonville for the past two decades. Williams notes he's proud to see the changes that were so hard to make from the beginning are now able to be measured in ample benefits and a boosted morale within his internal department.

Chief Williams will retire February 28.
