A Cadiz man is facing his third DUI after police say they observed him operating a vehicle in a careless manner on Main Street. Cadiz Police reports 54-year old Marshel Maxey was observed driving a vehicle westbound on Main Street shortly after 7:15 Tuesday night and leaving the roadway and nearly driving on the sidewalk. Police say they observed Maxey show a careless driving behavior multiple times within a half mile on Main Street and conducted a traffic stop at the parking lot of Genesis Express on Jefferson Street.
Upon contact, police reportedly detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Police say Maxey could not produce a driver’s license and stated he was driving on a DUI suspended license and expected to go to jail.
Maxey was arrested and booked into the Christian County Jail charged with Careless Driving, Driving on a DUI Suspended License under Aggravating Circumstances, and Aggravating Circumstances Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, 3rd Offense.
