One person is already expressing interest in the Trigg County Board of Education seat vacated by the resignation of Sharon Simmons. Retired Trigg County teacher Charlene Sheehan announced on social media Thursday she plans to submit her application for the vacant district one board seat and will be a candidate in the November General Election to fill out the remainder of Simmons’ term.
Meanwhile, Clara-Beth Hyde announced Thursday morning she is running for the District 3 Trigg County Board of Education seat. Hyde says she recently filed her papers for the non-partisan office. District 3 includes the North Cadiz One and Two precincts. LaVerne Baker currently represents District 3.
