A production facility in Madisonville has announced an expansion that will create nearly 80 jobs. Berry Global, Inc. announced Monday they will invest $40-50 million in new equipment and facility upgrades for a new product line that will produce plastic packaging. Company officials say this will create 79 new full-time jobs, with a potential for additional future growth to the local community in 2018.
Madisonville Mayor David Jackson says in a release the continued investment by Berry into the Madisonville community is appreciated and they are very happy about the additional jobs this expansion will create. He went on to say the amount of investment shows a significant commitment by the company to the area, and the confidence they have in the workforce.
Hopkins County Judge-Executive Donnie Carroll says they are elated that Berry continues to strengthen its investment in Hopkins County and their workforce. He adds the new jobs created by this expansion will offer great opportunities for their citizens.
Berry will be hiring to fill the newly created openings, which include both entry-level manufacturing and skilled trade positions.
