A Hopkinsville community leader and well-known journalist will become the new President of the United Way of the Pennyrile. United Way board chair Holly Boggess announced Tuesday afternoon that Annie Catron will become President on April 16.
Catron has served as Assistant News Director for the WKDZ-WHVO News Edge since 2017. She worked as Senior Reporter from 2016 until her promotion early last year. She also serves as President of Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club.
Boggess says Annie’s commitment to and knowledge of the Hopkinsville-Christian County area and surrounding region are second to none. Boggess says Catron brings both professional and personal qualities to the United Way to allow our organization to continue to build upon its momentum and to tap into untapped resources.
Catron’s first day on the job will be April 16th, which coincides with the first day of the United Way partner agency Community Investment Volunteer visits.
Catron says she is honored to have been chosen to lead the organization that touches so many lives, and is so excited to help the United Way start this next chapter of its service to residents of Christian, Todd and Trigg counties.
