Five volunteer fire departments battled a large brush fire fueled by windy conditions near Prizer Point in Lyon County Thursday afternoon. The brush fire was in a wooded area and burned more than 20 acres between Howard and Enfield roads located off of Rockcastle Road.
Trigg County Emergency Management Director David Bryant says the fire crews responded to the scene shortly after 12pm Thursday when someone was burning something and it got out of a control.

There were no injuries, although Bryant indicates one firefighter got a little overheated and went home.

As of Thursday evening, the fire was contained in a wooded area and still smoldering. Firefighters remained on the scene to monitor any hot spots that could possibly flare up and threaten nearby homes.

Cerulean, East Golden Pond, Lyon County, Montgomery and Trigg-Lyon County Volunteer Fire Departments, the Kentucky Department of Forestry, U.S. Forest Service and Trigg County EMS responded to the scene.
