Motorists traveling US 641 near the Calloway-Marshall County line need to be aware of a northbound lane restriction starting Thursday. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the work zone lane restriction is to allow use of a long-reach track hoe to repair a washout, do some drainage work, and complete other repairs along the right of way.
The work zone will be in during the overnight hours Thursday and continuing into Friday, but Todd notes it will come down over the weekend. He adds the work zone will return during the day Monday. All traffic will be moved to the left-hand or passing lane at the site.
Northbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic when approaching the work zone. Motorists should also use caution where equipment, flaggers and other personnel are along the roadway near traffic flow.
