The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a clean audit of its 2016 Tax Settlement. State Auditor Mike Harmon released the information Wednesday morning.
The audit says Sheriff Kent Murphy’s financial statement fairly presents the taxes charged, credited and paid for the period April 16, 2016 through April 17, 2017 in conformity with the regulatory basis of accounting.
The auditor noted no instances of noncompliance were found. The auditor also noted there were no matters involving internal control over financial reporting and its operation that were considered to be material weaknesses.
