Nearly one hundred Pembroke Elementary School students joined Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority President and CEO Derrick Watson and Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks Friday to proclaim National Drinking Water Week. Taking turns Watson and Hendricks read portions of the proclamation, with Mayor Hendricks officially declaring National Drinking Water Week for Hopkinsville and Christian County.

Watson answered several questions asked by the students in attendance, but there was one that stuck out from all of the rest about the future of the water supply.
The proclaimation took place at the Distribution and Laboratory Building at Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville.
