Police have released the identity of the female homicide victim found on Mitchell Street Wednesday. Clarksville Police Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says 36-year old Tanesha Hardy was shot inside a vehicle in the 200 block of Mitchell Street.

Police responded to a shots fired call around 12:40 Wednesday morning and were flagged down by a man who said a passenger inside of the vehicle had been shot. Officers found Hardy inside of the car with a gunshot wound. She was transported by ambulance from the scene and died from her injuries.

Through their investigation, Knoll says police identified 27-year old Timothy Ogburn as a “person of interest” in the murder on Mitchell Street as well as the shooting death on May 19 of Julian Torres behind Bob’s Discount Tobacco on Providence Boulevard.

Ogburn was arrested around noon Wednesday in Oak Grove by Clarksville and Oak Grove Police. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail by Oak Grove Police charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, which Knoll indicates was unrelated to the homicides in Clarksville.

After Ogburn is extradited to Clarksville, Knoll says he will be booked into the Montgomery County Jail for Aggravated Assault and Felon in Possession of a Firearm, which is also unrelated to the Homicides.

As the investigation continues, police indicate additional individuals have been identified as having involvement or information related to the two homicides. Police are asking them to come in so they can provide their side of events surrounding the homicides.
