State Police say a Henderson pedestrian is in critical but stable condition after he was hit by a semi driven by a Cadiz man Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 7:45am on US 41 when 44-year old Randall Compton, of Cadiz, was operating a tractor trailer on US 41 northbound and then stopped at a red light at the intersection with Marywood Drive, in Henderson.

While Compton was waiting for the light to change, 62-year old Randy Hallmark reportedly tried to cross US 41 by walking underneath the semi’s trailer. When the light turned green, state police say Compton proceeded to go through the intersection where his unloaded trailer ran over Hallmark, who was still under the trailer.

Hallmark was transported by ambulance to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville for multiple injuries. At last check, Trooper King says he was in surgery and listed in critical but stable condition.

Police report Compton pulls for Custom Feed Mill, in Morganfield located in Union County.
