Storms Packed A Punch In Christian County Thursday

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for portions of Christian and Trigg counties around 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Reports received by the Weather Edge indicate that emergency management officials in Christian County reported trees down in an area about three miles north of Hopkinsville.

In the 4500 block of Greenville Road in Christian County, a tree fell on power lines and was blocking the entire roadway.

Crews cleared Greenville Road 

A trained weather spotter also reported about a foot of water across US 41, near the junction with Old Kelly Road, and Christian County Emergency Management reported flooding in the Happy Hollow area.

During a 40-minute span before 5:00 pm, the Christian County Mesonet site reported nearly an inch and a quarter of rainfall.
