Man Charged After Fleeing Police On Moped

A Hopkinsville man is facing charges after police determined he was driving on a suspended license and then he fled on a moped.

Hopkinsville Police report an officer observed 32-year old Brandon Canty driving a moped on Canton Street on a suspended license. When the officer turned around to stop Canty, he reportedly accelerated and the officer lost him momentarily. Police say Canty was located in front of Stewart Street and Phelps Avenue, and the moped was found hidden behind a home in the 1900 block of Phelps Avenue.

Canty was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with Operating on a Suspended License, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Fleeing or Evading Police.
