Man Charged With Burglarizing Grandparents Shed

A Hopkinsville man was charged with burglary after he allegedly broke into his grandparents shed and took more than $900 of multiple items.

According to Hopkinsville Police, 23-year old John Oliver was arrested on Colonette Drive at 4:15 Monday afternoon after his grandparents, William and Loretta Oliver told officers that their grandson had broken into the shed Sunday morning. Mrs. Oliver stated that when she asked John why her channel locks were in the shed, he said he had used them to break into the shed to get paint. Mr. Oliver told officers he had multiple items valued at a total of $925 inside the shed that were stolen.

John Oliver was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 3rd Degree Burglary.
