Two Charged With Assault And Robbery Of Couple

Authorities say two men have been charged in connection to the assault and robbery of a couple last week in Madisonville. Police report tips from several Hopkins County residents led to the arrests of 37-year old Richard Senay of Paducah and 29-year old Aaron Rice of Madisonville.

Around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, Madisonville Police say Timothy Yates and his wife, Dorene were walking east on Graves Street when near the intersection of North Church Street two males walked up behind the couple and began striking them with clubs. Mrs. Yates was able to flee while both suspects were allegedly robbing her husband.

Police say Mrs. Yates was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Baptist Health where she was treated and released. Mr. Yates sustained injuries but refused medical treatment.
