Police say a Hopkinsville man was arrested on a warrant after they found him in possession of a stolen firearm and restricted ammunition earlier this month. 19-year old Cody Adamov was taken into custody by Hopkinsville Police Thursday night shortly before 7:00 in the 1400 block of Wilshire Circle.
The Christian District Court arrest warrant dated June 28 says officers went to Adamov’s residence to serve a warrant on June 6 and noticed a strong odor of marijuana. Upon entering the residence, police observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Adamov was arrested and a search warrant was obtained for the residence. During the search, officers found and recovered a handgun that had been reported stolen, which was loaded with restricted ammo. Officers also reportedly found a small bagge of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police say Adamov admitted to hiding the marijuana in his girlfriend’s purse when officers knocked on the door.
Adamov was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm), Possession of Marijuana, Using Restricted Ammo During Felony (No Shots), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The warrant shows he was also charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.
