As we approach the July 4th holiday, the Hopkinsville Fire Department wants to remind everyone to obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks.
Public Information Officer Captain Michael Pendleton wants everyone to stay safe this holiday and offered a few safety tips when using fireworks.

He notes responsible adults should supervise all firework activities.Captain Pendleton also wants to remind residents within the City limits of the ordinance pertaining to shooting off fireworks.

He adds all of these violations of Chapter 27 are punishable as set forth in the Kentucky Revised Statutes and may result in fines up to $1,000 or imprisonment up to 30 days.
