The Paducah National Weather Service says another hot day is in store across the region.
Monday’s heat index values will be between 100 and 105. Another scorcher is forecast, and temperatures peaking in the lower 90s will combine with high humidity to produce triple-digit heat index values Monday. Scattered showers and storms will be about the only relief from the heat, but at least will produce a few more clouds. This additional cloudiness should result in a degree or two cooler readings than the extremes of this weekend.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside today. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. Take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
