City officials unveiled the new logo for the Hopkinsville Sportsplex Monday afternoon.
Marketing and Events Coordinator Chris Jung says the logo, which spells out the name of the facility, uses green and brown colors within “Sportsplex” to represent the turf and playing court options that will be available inside the brand new athletic complex.
He adds the “T” in “Sportsplex” extends out to cover the entire word, mirroring the similar look made by the facility’s A-frame roof — currently being finalized by A&K Construction on Tilley Way in Hopkinsville. Once completed, Jung says the Sportsplex will work to become the premier destination in western Kentucky for visitors and guests related to sports tourism.
According to Jung, the Sportplex will now begin the task of accordingly updating all collaterals, apparel, machines, business cards, social media portals, etc., with the new logo.
The $5.56 million dollar Hopkinsville Sportsplex is projected to open in October. It will feature three high-school regulation basketball courts, which can also be convered into six regulation volleyball courts, a multipurpose turf field, baseball/sofball batting cages, ample spectator areas, concessions area, restrooms, meeting places, flexibility to host additional “non-sporting” events and more.
