The Christian County Coroner’s Office is investigating the drowning of a four-year-old Colorado girl at Pennyrile State Resort Park.  Christian County Deputy Coroner Mike Stokes identified the girl as Kinsley Lynch of Fort Collins, Colorado, daughter of Ryan and Briony Lynch.

Stokes says Kinsley and her family were visiting friends in Clarksville and decided to come to Pennyrile State Park beach.  Stokes says her father told him Kinsley and her siblings were playing on the beach making sandcastles when he last saw her.  Next time the father looked, the child was not there.  Her father told Stokes he found her in the water.  After pulling her out, family members attempted CPR.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Public Information Officer Captain Michael Pendleton says Christian County EMS and Rescue responded to the State Park beach after receiving a report of CPR in progress on a 4-year-old drowning victim.

Efforts to revive the child were unsuccessful.  Stokes pronounced her dead at 4:45 p.m..  He says an autopsy will be conducted Sunday in Louisville.
