A Hopkinsville man was arrested on multiple charges Sunday night after he allegedly threatened a female with a gun and then deputies found what they say appeared to be a bomb at his residence.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reports 26-year old Trevor Putty was charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, 3rd Degree Use of Weapon of Mass Destruction, and several other offenses.
The charges stem from when deputies responded to a possible disturbance at a home in the 10,000 block of Princeton Road at 9:00 p.m. after a female reportedly ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911 after Putty slammed a hammer on her toe. Deputies say the victim stated when she got out of the shower Putty gave her an attitude because she would not have sexual intercourse with him and then threatened her while holding a gun to her head and stomach/pelvis area. The victim said she apologized to Putty and when he got in the shower she ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911.
After getting permission to search the home from the female victim, deputies say they found what appeared to be a bomb/weapon of mass destruction in a bedroom in a black plastic bag that was six inches long and two white wires sticking out of the same end, wrapped in saran wrap with two different powdery chemicals in it. Deputies also reportedly found two firearms inside the home. According to the report, Putty told deputies the bomb like object was given to him by a friend and he wasn’t sure what it was.
Putty was taken into custody and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
