Davies Announces Resignation As MSU President

Murray State University’s 13th president has announced he is resigning. Bob Davies, who has been president for four years, says his resignation is effective September 1.

Davies says in the announcement he was not actively pursuing other opportunities, but he and his family were presented with an extraordinary opportunity as the 15th President of Central Michigan University, which is a national research caliber university. He notes these opportunities are rare, and something he could not decline.

According to a social media post on Murray State University’s Facebook page, the University’s Board of Regents is expected to move quickly to name an interim president to ensure a seamless transition as the University prepares for a national presidential search.
