The Hopkinsville Police Department received a 5-year Accreditation Award. The award was given to the department by the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP). KACP accreditation examines agency policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The accreditation process included an on-site assessment of the department ensuring the department’s policies and procedures were compliant with 171 professional standards required to receive accreditation. Police departments have to be re-accredited every 4 years in order to maintain the accreditation.
