War On Asian Carp In Western Kentucky Moving Forward

Progress is continuing to be made on the War on Asian Carp in western Kentucky.

Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White tells the News Edge the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife has spent over $200,000 for a 7-ton a day flake ice machine and freezer specifically for the commercial Carp fisherman.

He notes the Tennessee Valley Authority donated $5,000 to help with electricity costs of the ice machine and freezer.

Judge White says the foundation is also doing well, which will help fund the War on Asian Carp.

He says he met with Pro staff bowfisherman Andy Cardwell and Pro Angler Mark Menendez Wednesday to start making plans for a Bounty Tournament next year.

Judge White adds there is a lot of excitement surrounding the Bounty Tournament. With the tournament being held next year, he says that gives time to raise money for it and to put some other things together they have been talking about, including possibly tying it in with Bass fishing.
