A woman was arrested on Roney Drive Sunday night for her third DUI and other offenses.
According to the police report, officers received a call about two hit and runs collisions on Henderosn Road Sunday night shortly after 8:30. Police found the hit and run suspect, identified as 25-year old Royneca Brown, behind 205 Roney Drive and when she saw officers she reportedly fled the scene until she got to a dead end area and was apprehended. Officers say they smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverages while speaking to Brown.
Police determined Brown had two prior DUI convictions, as well as a previous conviction for operating a motor vehicle on a DUI suspended operator’s license. During a search of Brown, police found two pills in her short’s pocket that were determined to be Alprazolam, a Schedule 4 controlled substance.
Brown was taken into custody and lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 3rd Offense of Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Alcohol/Drugs with Aggravator, Leaving Scene of an Accident-Failure to Render Aid or Assistance, 1st Degree Fleeing/Evading Police in Motor Vehicle, 2nd Offense of Driving on a DUI Suspended License with Aggravator, and 3rd Degree Possession of Controlled Substance – Drug Unspecified.
