Man Facing Multiple Charges After Trigg Pursuit

A Hopkinsville man was arrested inside a home on New Hope Road in Trigg County after a high-speed pursuit Wednesday afternoon. According to emergency traffic, the pursuit began before 4:30 p.m.

Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam tells the News Edge 26-year old Zachary D. White of Hopkinsville was driving a vehicle stolen out of Caldwell County.  The pursuit went out Tuggle Road and then onto New Hope Road where White abandoned the vehicle near Jack Humphries Road. He says a Christian County Sheriff’s K-9 unit was called to the scene and helped track White to a home he had broken into on New Hope Road. He adds White had kicked in a side door to the residence and deputies found him in the living room, where he surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

Sheriff Burnam tells us White is charged with DUI, two counts of 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, Receiving Stolen Property, and 2nd Degree Burglary. He says additional charges are pending. When White is processed, he will be booked into the Christian County Jail.

The Cadiz Police Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, and Constable Michael Parker assisted the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department.
