A Hopkins County woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon. Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of the wreck at the intersection of Charleston Road and Niles Road shortly after 5:30.
Deputies say a preliminary investigation revealed 59-year old Ronald Bunton of Woodburn was driving a truck and pulling a trailer south on Charleston Road when 23-year old Tika Brothers pulled out in front of him, causing Bunton to crash into the driver’s side of her car.
According to the report, Brothers and her 4-year old son, who was in the car with her, were flown from the scene by Air Evac to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville where Brothers was later pronounced deceased. Authorities say the 4-year old is listed in stable condition.
Deputies say Bunton was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
