Four individuals facing charges of wanton endangerment to unlawful imprisonment were among indictments returned by the Christian County Grand Jury Friday.
61-year old Anthony Aldridge of Hopkinsville was indicted for three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and other offenses. The charges stem from July 14 when deputies reported Aldridge was involved in an injury wreck on Pembroke Road and smelled of alcoholic beverages. Deputies said he failed to render any assisstance to the three passengers that were in the vehicle he hit.
The grand jury indicted 30-year old Nycoreal Mays of Oak Grove on charges of trafficking cocaine, marijuana, and synthetic drugs while armed, first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to a police report, the charges stem from July 24 when detectives with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Drug and Violent Crimes Strikeforce executed a search warrant at a home on Trevor Lane in Oak Grove and seized approximately 41 grams of spice-synthetic drugs, about 10 ounces of marijuana, around 4 grams of cocaine, multiple digital scales, a 12 gauge shotgun with multiple shotgun shells, and over $1,200 in cash.
52-year old Douglas Wells of Hopkinsville was indicted for one count of wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of marijuana in connection to a disturbance on East 7th Street on August 3rd that police said turned physical when he tried to run over a female victim with a vehicle and then threatened her with a knife. Officers reportedly found marijuana in the driver’s door and seat of the vehicle Wells was driving.
And the grand jury indicted Timothy Bennett of Beaver Dam for six counts of second degree unlawful imprisonment, intimidating a participant in a legal process, violation of an emergency protection order, and other offenses. Police reported officers responded to a call at a home on West 7th Street on July 25 where a female stated Bennett, who she has an active DVO against, had held her against her will through physical violence and intimidation since July 11. The victim stated Bennett also repeatedly threatened to kill her, and police reported she had bruises on her arms and legs that appeared to be defensive injuries.
