Parents could save a little money after the Trigg County Board of Education approved a final budget for the 2018-2019 school year during Thursday night’s meeting. Finance Officer Holly Greene and Superintendent Travis Hamby presented the final budget of $25,747,964 to board members.
Hamby notes one thing that could save families money across the district that was included in the budget.
Hamby says most field trip costs were because of fuel expenses for the buses.
With the elimination of the fuel charge, it could save athletic teams a lot of money.
Board members approved the budget with a 4-0 vote, with Gayle Rufli absent from the meeting.
Board members also visited Trigg County Primary School to see what teachers are doing with students within the first two months of school.
Also to note, the Trigg County Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 11th has been canceled.
