Last week, every student at North and South Todd Elementary schools received a pumpkin to take home with them.
In a post on social media, school officials say students had the opportunity to use these pumpkins to learn about the spiny defense mechanisms built into the stalks of some varieties of pumpkins. They also learned about the little spines that help collect the morning dew which helps provide water to the roots.
Simons Farms & Produce located at 2616 Guthrie Road in Guthrie donated the pumpkins to the school system.
