Three people were injured in two separate wrecks in Christian County over the weekend.
The first wreck occurred shortly before 10:00 Saturday morning on at the intersection of Lafayette Road and Lovers Lane. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says a southbound vehicle driven by 80-year old Wayne Parthune of Hopkinsville went to turn onto Lovers Lane and pulled into the path of a northbound pickup truck driven by Gary Word of Hopkinsville. Word said he couldn’t stop in time and his truck hit the passenger side of the car.
Deputies say Parthune was taken by private vehicle to the emergency room at Jennie Stuart Medical Center for possible injuries and Word was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
According to the sheriff’s office, the second collision occurred in the 3100 block of Butler Road Sunday evening just before 7:00 when 41-year old Kristie Homa of Hopkinsville was backing her vehicle out of a driveway when it was hit by a car driven by 35-year old Youssef Aly of Clarksville. Homa stated to deputies a trash can at the end of the driveway blocked her view of oncoming traffic.
Aly was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
