Several Indicted By Grand Jury For Wanton Endangerment

The Christian County Grand Jury returned several indictments Friday for wanton endangerment and other charges.

Trevor Putty

26-year old Trevor Putty of Hopkinsville was indicted for third-degree Use of Weapon Of Mass Destruction, 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, two counts of Possession of a Handgun By a Convicted Felon and several other charges. The charges stem from July 29 when deputies responded to a home on the Princeton Road for a disturbance where they say Putty slammed a hammer on the toe of a female victim and then threatened her while holding a gun to her head and stomach/pelvis area. Putty then left the home before deputies arrived. During a search of the home, deputies reportedly found what appeared to be a bomb/weapon of mass destruction in a bedroom in a black plastic bag that was six inches long and two white wires sticking out of the same end, wrapped in saran wrap with two different powdery chemicals in it. Deputies also reportedly found two firearms inside the home.

Dreon Key

20-year old Dreon Key of Nashville, Tennessee was indicted for two counts of second degree Assault of a Police Officer, three counts of first degree Wanton endangerment, first degree Fleeing and Evading Police and other charges. On July 14, 2017, Key allegedly tried to run over two officers with his vehicle when fleeing from police.

Kent Wheeler

The grand jury indicted 22-year old Kent Wheeler of Hopkinsville for two counts of first-degree Wanton Endangerment and fourth-degree domestic violence assault from an incident that occurred on June 7 when he allegedly created a risk of death or serious injury to a female victim and minor child.

Brittany Starks

26-year old Brittany Starks of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree Wanton Endangerment, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of Marijuana While Armed. Hopkinsville Police reported that Stephanie Gentry pulled into police headquarters on August 5 after Starks had followed her and discharged a firearm at her. Officers reportedly found a Glock 27, along with two magazines and marijuana in Stark’s purse, hidden in a laundry basket in her bedroom, as well the shell cases at the scene where she had fired the shots at Gentry.

Tamatha McLeod

The grand jury indicted 47-year old Tamatha Teresa McLeod of Hopkinsville for first-degree Burglary and first-degree Wanton Endangerment after police say on June 12th she entered a residence on Hazel Street with the intent to commit a crime while armed with a deadly weapon and created the risk of death or serious injury to the victim.

Demarcus Hale

23-year old Demarcus Steven Hale of Oak Grove was indicted for first-degree Wanton Endangerment, first degree Fleeing or Evading Police and other charges stemming from May 2. The indictment says Hale disobeyed commands from police to stop and fled the scene, endangering the lives of officers and motorists.

Tyrone Walker

35-year old Tyron Walker was indicted for first-degree Wanton Endangerment, third-degree Terroristic Threatening and other offenses in connection to wreck that occurred on August 11 on Hugh Hunter Road in Oak Grove. Authorities say they tried to make a traffic stop but Walker fled and then crashed head-on into a vehicle occupied by a mother and child. Police say they later determined Walker was on federal supervised release and had an active warrant from ATF and was wanted by the U.S. Marshal’s Office.

Rogerick Fields

And 32-year old Rogerick Lee Fields of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree burglary after police say he entered a residence on Coleman Street and assaulted a female victim, causing minor injuries.
