A contractor plans to restrict a portion of US 62 to one-lane in Caldwell County beginning Monday for additional soil stabilization.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the work will take place at the 16.5-mile point, which is just west of Dawson Springs. In February, a landslide developed at this site, causing 600 feet of the roadway to become damaged.
Geostabilization International, LLC, will use a number of soil stabilization methods, including soil nailing, to prevent the movement of soil along the hillside. This project should take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
