Ninth District State Representative Myron Dossett has pre-filed a bill that would allow taxpayers to donate to the Kentucky YMCA Youth Assembly from their individual income tax refunds. BR 240 was filed earlier this week.

Rep. Dossett says in a release this will be extremely beneficial to the young people who participate in this program. He indicates the BR 240 will allow for taxpayers to donate to a worthy, helpful organization that cultivates some of the sharpest minds in the state.

The Kentucky YMCA Youth Assembly is a three-day program where middle and high schoolers participate in a model of Kentucky’s state government. The students learn about a variety of issues, improve their thinking skills, and learn how state government functions. Dossett says the tax refund donations for the program would go toward supplies, travel, and other needs.

Rep. Dossett also thanked fellow State Representative Russ Meyer for his help in drafting the bill.
