A Hopkinsville woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Canton Street Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police report 23-year old Demetria Broadus was driving east on Canton Street when a car driven by 76-year old Perry Johnson of Hopkinsville pulled out in front of her off of Grandview Drive. Broadus reportedly slammed on her brakes but could not avoid hitting the vehicle. Johnson stated to officers he was watching for traffic trying to cross Canton Street from Grandview Drive to get to Dogwood Drive when his foot slipped off the brake when he was sitting at the stop sign.
Police say Broadus was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries.
