Trigg County Fiscal Court magistrates discussed high gas prices in Cadiz and approved a bid to put a new roof on the road maintenance facility during Monday evening’s meeting.
Magistrate Mike Wright says he hears about the high prices weekly.
Wright compared prices with one chain in particular, which has many regional locations, and proved the Cadiz gas price was well over 20 cents more than the nearest location less than 20 miles away.
Trigg County Judge-executive Hollis Alexander says he will look into options, including calling the attorney general to see what the next steps are in trying to lower the prices.
In other business, magistrates approved a $63,500 bid from All In One Services, LLC out of Madisonville to put a new roof on the Trigg County Road Maintenance Facility. The new TPO roof will be put over top of the existing concrete roof. County Engineer Frank Williams says the TPO roof is the best option for the facility.
Magistrates also approved signing a designation of applicant’s agent, a document required in order for new county treasurer Lucy Kyler to help the county receive federal disaster assistance from FEMA.
