As families sit down and count their blessings Thursday, one Trigg County chef is thanking the community for allowing him to do his favorite thing.
Jack McGee, head-chef at Lake Barkley State Resort Park’s Windows on the Water restaurant tells the News Edge he has been cooking for 40 years.
McGee says they are gearing up for a big Thanksgiving buffet at the restaurant.
McGee adds he starts preparing the meal as early as 4:00 AM.
McGee and his staff will begin serving food at noon Thursday and will serve until 8:00 PM. The price for the buffet is $19.50 for adults, $9.50 for children ages 6-12, and free for children under the age of 6.
McGee expects to serve around 1,200 during the eight hour period, with Lake Barkley State Park Manager David Miller saying approximately 920 people stopped in for the buffet last year.
