New Public Information Officer Mike Atkins says it is important for the department to have a strong relationship with members of the public.
Atkins adds trust is the most important quality and hopes he can continue to help build trust throughout Hopkinsville.
According to Atkins, there are numerous things the department is doing to help build trust including REZ meetings.
Atkins was the guest speaker at the weekly Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club meeting Thursday afternoon.
